How could you forget KENNY MOORE!? He only PLACED 4TH in the olympics and was a two time marathon olympian.
Someone has already done alot of work for you guys on this topic once before:
from the thread mentioned earlier:
University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP):
2:08.32 Gidamis Shahanga TAN Berlin 2nd 1990
2:09.12 Rodolfo Gomez MEX Tokyo 3rd 1983

Top 5 = 10:47.52 (2:09:34 average)

University of Oregon:
2:08.52 Alberto Salazar USA Boston 1st 1982
2:09.38 Ken Martin USA New York 2nd 1989
2:11.13 Rudy Chapa USA New York 7th 1983
2:11.15 Art Boileau CAN Boston 2nd 1986
2:11.36 Kenny Moore USA Fukuoka 2nd 1970
Top 5 = 10:51.34 (2:10:19 average)
Providence College:
2:09.08 Geoff Smith GBR New York 2nd 1983

2:13.32 Steve Binns GBR Chicago 10th 1988
Top 5 = 10:54.16 (2:10:51 average)
UTEP by a mile (almost) over Oregon! All three have impressive records though. This took a while to put together, but the topic seemed interesting
To go ten deep here's a start on Providence:
Treacy 2:09:15
Smith 2:09
Carroll 2:10
Ronan: 2:11
Binns 2:12
Danny Dillon 2:16
R. Treacy 2:16
Fallon 2:17
Byrne 2:17
What about Arkansas?

Dan, Moore doesn't crack Oregon's top five.
2:11:34 Pete Fonseca CAN Toronto 1st 1975
Wesleyan University:
Bill Rodgers (2:09)
Ambrose Burfoot (2:14)
Jeff Galloway (2:16)
Joe Mahoney (2:19)

This thread just makes me realize how many really good marathoners there have been who I have NEVER heard of. In my defense however, most of them are not from this country.

Mark Conover went to Humboldt State along with Bill Scobey (2:16 ish) and Gary Tuttle (2:15 ish). Cal State Fullerton had Mark Covert, Dave White and two other guys who all broke 2:20 while they were still attending in the early '70s.
I think.
Patrick Moulton went to Providence also, ran 2:15.35 this year. Casey Moulton went to Umass-Lowell, you can add his 2:15.26 to their list.
