Good to see conversation about my OAC competitors. At a glance it appears though that the increased variety of spring sports opportunities is great for the overall health of the various student bodies but also thins the ranks in terms of quality.
We ran dual and triangular meets when I was at BW in the early to mid 80's and unless you ran under 9:10 for the steeple or sub 14:55 for 5,000 you did not stand much of a chance of earning points for a varsity letter. I vividly recall running 28:02 for 8K CC race in a dual against Kent State my freshman year and was dead last by over a minute...jeesh did I feel slow.
My senior year at the BW invite my roommate ran 1:50.4 for 800 after a night of heavy drinking...not a great idea but at least he could stand up at the starting line.

What year was that cc race? 81 or 82? Kent didn't have men's cc from 83-86.
I do remember BW having a stud 800 guy whose initials are TM and if that invite was in 85 I also ran in that race. Pissed me off because I pr'ed and that EsOhBee still beat me. He coaches at Ignatius now.

Edizer just ran a 3'49.44 1500 at elevation at a european circut meet... I thought he drowned to death in a white water rafting incident in july? anyone know his where abouts or what kind of training he has been doing?
