Can't get my spike out, and I have a race on asphalt tomorrow, any tips?

My tip is to wear a pair of racing flats.
File some flats onto them to get a grip with pliers...in a pinch, grind them down and then drill them out later.
Vice grip. I've never seen it fail.
grind the spike flat with a file. buy a bolt extractor set that has one small enough for a spike. it will have a small drill bit. be careful not to drill all the way through the spike. just a little over half way. place your screw extractor in the drill and swith the direction of the drill to turn in recerse. when the extractor bottoms out, it will remove the spike.
toal cost - $10? but you will have the extractor set to keep.
File the spike down flat, take a hacksaw and cut across thespike to create a screw head, then use a screwdriver to get it out.
