Seriously though, i am not sure that it is possible to run much quicker without drugs.
Who do you think is the real "clean" 100m World Record holder?

Not just the 100m but every single world record for me holds some doubt...
THE most doubtful world record has got to be Komen's 7:20....[quote]Outside observation wrote:
I think I voice many peoples opinion on this board when I say three words
BULLET
BOB
HAYES
Although at altitude, Hines' 9.95 is most likely legit. Smith's 9.93 also altitude aided was also probably clean. I would be surprised if anyone at the elite level, coach, meet director, agent, competitor ever doubted those two.
Tyson Gay's 9.88

You think thats more suspicious than Gatlin's 9.77?
ABSOLUTELY. komen ran like a bat outta hell for 2 years and disappeared. just like sammy kipketer.
That's a bit of an exagerration. Yes, Komen had two incredible years (1996 and 1997), but he also ran some pretty good times in every year from 1995 to 2001.
For 5000m, he ran 12:54 in 1998 (12:51 indoors), 12:55 in 1999, 13:01 in 2000, and 13:01 in 2001, so it is not like he fell off the face of the earth after his record-breaking seasons. He had previously run 12:56 in 1995, finishing second to Kiptanui when he broke the world record.
Komen had five consecutive seasons under 13 minutes for 5000m and was just a second off making it six or seven in a row. That is better longevity at the distance than Bob Kennedy.
Komen also ran a 7:28 3000m in 2000 and a 7:29 in 1999. He ran 3:30.49 for 1500m in 1998.
and Gatlin has already tested positive. I don't know how, even if you're 99% sure, Komen's record can be more skeptical than JG's.
and Sammy Kipketer is still running, decided to make money off roads instead and occasionally does track. man it's amazing how little people follow track on this message board.
I believe the original poster meant to say WILSON kipketer

.
Nice recap Pytheas. In 1994 he was no slouch either placing 2nd at world junior cross and winning an 8km in T.O. in low 22 and running around high 27 a week later for 10km at the Vancouver Sun Run. So now the range is like 8 years of world class times. Hardly a flash in the pan.
For clean, fast 100m; what about Donavon bailey in 1996 Olympics 9.84?
dude i think whats more suspicious is my 11 yr old cousin that can run a 44.6 1600. ahhhh he bats me
Wilson Kipketer was world class from 95-05.
womens 100 FLO ID A CHEATER
I'm going to agree and say that I doubt anyone yet could beat Bob Hayes or Tommie Smith by more than a little (I'm not saying that they were the ultimate) without drugs.
In the fifties a guy named Bill Sharman shot a little over 93% for free throws for an entire season. That's about as good as it gets - although someone, Calvin Murhpy, did top that mark by shooting 95%. In other words, Bob Hayes ran 10.00, and I definitely think someone else might be able to cleanly run 9.98 or 9.96 or 9.94. But, sorry, not under 9.90. I ain't buying.
Not until I see someone shoot 499 baskets out of 500 in the course of NBA play anyways.
the thing that was most surprising about komen was, that he had done a pretty hard 5k only a few days before the 7:20, and he looked tired in the 5k, so it is hard to believe that if he was so tired in the 5k, that he could come back 3 days later and destroy the WR.
All of Steven Prefontaines american records were tainted by alcohol.
At one point a few years ago ESPN was running a pretty funny segment about baseball called All the Best Players who Certainly aren't on Steriods. Basically everyone they talked about was Ichiro-sized.
