Mu ran 1:55.21 wire to wire 5 years ago without bicarbs, wavelight at the Olympic.
Give her all that with 700m of pacing, she could've broken 1:53 today.

An interesting fantasy, but today's result drove the point home even further that she is no longer even remotely in the conversation for this distance, if at all. Unfortunate, but that's how it goes.
Or she would have been thrown off having to run between Werro and a Pacer, panicked, and clipped somebody. We have no idea.
It's so exhausting having Americans make any good performance any other 800m woman does somehow about an imaginary hypothetical Athing Mu.

It really is.
Let.It.Go..
All this ‘she would have done this and she would have run that time’ . She didn’t! That’s all that matters.
Please. Mu was terrible for the sport in the same way S McL continues to be. Zero personality, sparse "curated" racing schedule, sketchy ass coach. That's to say nothing of all the snooty "modeling" talk.
Now we have beautiful, personable women chasing the WR. Embrace it.
Waiting for Werrobouts violation.
Log onto YouTube and watch old videos. There are plenty going back to AAU days.
Mu is done. She was incredible at her peak but her prime years in the sport are done, for a multitude of reasons.
Instead of lamenting the past, enjoy the present.

This deserves a thumbs up but nobody has a sense of humor around here.

Oh please. Mu was great for the sport. Your post speaks volumes about who you are.
The year is 2070, and LetsRun board is still philosophising about how Mu could have been the greatest
