Not a great sign for 'track' fans, that the Women's Hammer is the lead hype story for this meet. NBC must have been desperate. As we all know, the only sport more boring than track??...............Field! (But of course I'll watch all 2 hours).

Ella O did not declare for ncaa nationals tho she seemed to have run on lsu 4x400? Did not run sec champs either i believe.

So Ella Onojuvwevwo just won the 400 in 49.47.

She was running in the NCAA this spring for LSU but they didn't enter her for NCAAs. I assumed because she was injured, but clearly not. Now she's racing in a Nike pro kit.

Anyone know why she didn't enter NCAAs?

I expected much better from Britton Wilson, Talitha Diggs and Alexis Holmes in the 400M. Wilson looked like she couldn't even get across the line.

Also, my goodness do the stands look bare.

I didn't expect a professional meet in College Station, Texas, would draw that much, but looks like there are only a couple hundred fans in attendance.

Maybe she had an offer on the table but Nike put stipulations on her outdoor NCAA performance? Or something of that nature

FWIW, the women's hammer very much lived up to the hype. The World and Olympic champ from Canada won with 260-4, but only after American Rachel Richeson pushed her to the limit with another big PR 260-3. She's become a very serious medal contender for World and Olympics and may be passing DeAnna Price and Brooke Andersen as the best American and leading U.S. medal contender.

She Ran the 49.59 on April 4th, Then she ran her last previous race on April 25thth a 200 in 22.56 She missed SEC, Regionals and NCAA is next weekend. So she might of been Injured and this is her first race back.

( The Following is just being silly) Or Maybe NIKE Just offered her so much Money, I Mean Elon Musk level Money, , She said to herself If I sign I am set for life as are and descendants I may have in the Future, My Guess is NIKE offered her enough to make President Trump Jealous and she just could not refuse LOL

Britton Wilson has not recovered from overuse injuries and stress fractures during and since college. Makes you wonder if her coaches are responsible or she over trains on her own. She had so much promise and hopefully can find a way back.

She ran well a 50.66 Indoors very early in the Season, So I was Thinking maybe she is back, Sad as she is a Mega Talent, Thought she would regularly be running mid 48-low 49 regularly when she Turned Pro Early, I was thinking a Talent similar to Femke Bol, or even Sydney McLaughlin, She is Probably under a lot of Pressure as Brands usually Do not reduce Post Collegians Money for 24 Months but are Brutal after that, and if she is injured she needs more financial and emotional support not less.

Gabby Thomas said she is going to Seriously see how well she can run in the 400 this year, but a 10.95 personal best in the 100 and a 21.70 EARLY in the season for her as July- September is her Season at the level she is at, maybe she will stick with the short sprints, The 400 is interesting she would probably make the team, with Sydney McLaughlin meaning only 1 individual spot left, Aaliyah Butler is My Favorite so if Gabby Thomas runs the 400 I get worried.
