St. Louis could host an incredible marathon, there are so many scenic things and places in the city, not to mention the history.
Start at WashU’s track to pay homage to the 1904 Olympic Games. Run down through Forest park, past the reflection pool, the Art Museum, the Band Stand. Next run down town for a few loops of the Old Courthouse, Union Station and the Municipal Building. Finish with the Arch as a backdrop in the Gateway National park. Alternate options include an out and back on Eads Bridge.
St Louis is full of runners, real runners. Any Saturday or Sunday morning there are mobs of people in neon polyester looping forest part. Also, the March weather is IDEAL for running. it will be a great trials.
