as a distance based high school junior with very little consistent training and mileage 8-10 miles a week and that too only during the real season. no tempo work only 400 repeats and 200 repeats and not very often.
ran not that many 1600s is this bad pacing 71 71 71 65 for a 4:38 1600 2:06 800 ran once with mileage that week 5 miles 1:01 1:05 and 9:58 3200 5:02 4:56 which was not ran when fully fresh this season and never any off-season conditioning except pickup basketball. If I run in the off-season hills, strenght training, consistent mileage 70-75 mpw and threshold work without getting injured what can I get next year?
LetsRun.com note! This thread was originally titled: "track PRs improvement", but it's from a real high schooler who has run pretty fast on very limited training. We're going to help him out this summer with his training, and also hopefully some of you with the Summer of LetsRun. We'd like you to be a part of the experience.
