you don't just "go to Antarctica." You have to be someone special, some kind of big-shot scientist or expert cold-wether pilot. Even then, there must be a ton of red tape, visas, approvals, grant money, etc

Not true. There are cruises that will take you there, sail you around some wild places, even land you a few times in Zodiacs. My in-laws did it. Costs a mint, though. Like $50k per person and you have to get down to Chile as well (I believe it was Chile they embarked from). They loved it. Said it was an incredible experience.

That's unfortunate if it's that expensive. I've heard about the marathon which is not nearly that expensive, but still a lot, and was hoping there was a cheaper way.

I could go for a few months if I wanted to as my work runs a research station there. My friend went and it sounds cool, but I don't think I will.
I have not been there but I can answer what its like - cold, icy, and desolate. It however, is off the beaten path, and you will get big social media cred if you go there and post a bunch of daily pics.

False. There are even cruise lines that go through there.

10 seconds of google and clicking on the first link shows cruises between $11500 USD and $2300 USD. 11-13 days.
They don't allow any real exploration of the ice wall around the inner base of the dome over the flat earth (like the UN flag). Yes, that means nobody has been to the moon, if "outer space" existed we would've colonized and mined it long ago.

I'm sure there are all kinds of cruise packages you can get for all kinds of different prices. I doubt $2300 would get you anywhere, though.

ok look, you cruise line bozos, you are not going to the south pole on a cruise ship. You can only go to the coastal part.
You want to go to the south pole, better be some kind of south pole scientist.
