Swedish citizenship. It's know that if you have citizenship from a country other than the big ones in athletics (US, UK, sometimes France and Germany, Kenya, Ethiopia, and now Uganda kind of) you can go pro while just being what would be sub elite for an American.

The denigrating comments about women’s bodies are not needed. Also, why do dolts always comment about distance runners having small chests? They’re runners FFS. Being a woman with big breasts is not conducive to being good at the sport.
Good for her, because she has a Nike contract doesn't mean she's making true Nike money. There are plenty of Nike athletes who aren't making much more than travel, gear, and a small stipend.
Yes, she's on the Swedish National Team. And if they can find Swedish heritage in Jane Hedengren's linage (very likely, given her last name, though Norway might have a separate claim) they gonna offer her a Mondo deal too, as they should! ;-P
Oregon used to have this track club called the Oregon track club also in Eugene.
lots of curious signings over the years. I was told that UO would maybe not pick up your scholarship for a year (say 10k) but then you’d sign a 10k Nike deal on the back end to make up for not having a scholarship.
Galen Rupp famously was not on a fill at Oregon. He may have gotten a signing bonus to take care of that student loan afterwards. Some are saying.

Yes but Mondo's mom was actually born in Sweden. She met his father because he was a world class vaulter and I believe she was an accomplished gymnast.
