The Ten is looking like a bust this year. Only one runner with a PB under 31:00 and that is 30:59.7. Houlihan would need to go it alone. There is no way she breaks Monson' AR. Monson was pushed by McColgan almost the whole way. Who is going to push Houlihan?

Not a super deep field this year. Jess McClain is probably her toughest competition and she might try to hold on to the pace, at least at first to see how it goes. Jess has barely broken 31 minutes so 30 flat would be a big jump.

Didn’t realise until I read that article that she’s still got the 1500m record still(not American so follow some events less closely) but just didn’t realise she was faster than Nikki considering recent form.

Yes. Sadly the doper will keep her AR for a while, as Nikki is too old to improve, and there is nobody better right now.

Shelbo has a history of calling her shots, but this seems ambitious... warm weather forecast and she will most likely be alone after the pacers drop out.

Sub-27 made Solinsky a legend. Shelbo is already a legend, but sub-30 would sure send the haters home devastated!

Everything she does is on Strava, would be interesting to try to connect the dots if she does/doesn’t pull it off. She’s definitely capable, would be a heck of a season opener on the track

Shelby allegedly has run 30:31 in a time trial, but that was almost 4 years ago. She was still in her prime then, even if suspended. Now she is 33 and it will be interesting if she can match her alleged time trial from 2022.
