Same phrasing was used for Millrose for what it’s worth. I think that turned out to be an illness for ESP. At USAs she mentioned both of her kids were sick at home. Hoping her family is healthy. In the meantime it’s a great opportunity for Appleton who’s been really impressive this indoor season.

she's a mother. could just be the balance between family time and where she feels she is with her fitness isn't worth the time commitment right now.

Yes that was actually what they said at the time (press conference), but then it was kinda unclear to me afterwards because someone said something about her health later on. Obviously she ended up running great in that mile at BU not much later.
