Uh-oh Zero WC qualifiers + no outdoor championships + coaches tied up with college teams = brutal start for a pro group that was supposed to be elite.
Why would you expect anything different when two of the three Swoosh TC coaches can’t even attend the only U.S. World Championships qualifier of the year because they’re tied up with full-time NCAA jobs? That pretty much tells you how high these groups rank on the priority list.

I dont think Swoosh TC is an actual pro group.
It is an actual track club. Nike really blew it with this structure. Not sure they hired the right coaches. If it weren't for Hocker, this would be by far the worst group of Nike pro athletes ever (Swoosh TC and beyond)
Nike is introducing Swoosh TC: a network of elite distance runners, coaches and innovators working together to push the boundaries of performance and progress at the leading edge of sport.

Yes Nike Swoosh TC isn’t one centralized team. It operates as a network with hubs in Flagstaff, Provo, and Eugene, each run by different coaches. Athletes wear standard Nike pro gear (not a unique team uniform), and the setup can vary by location. Some coaches are not full time with the group, and some athletes train alongside non-professional runners depending on the site. Overall, it functions more like a distributed training system than a traditional pro team based in one place. Nike definitely blew this set up. They have zero identity

I wouldn’t call it brutal. I’d be concerned about the trajectory on the men’s side for the Eugene group. I’d probably feel fine about Provo/Flagstaff. Very young rosters there, and athletes like Parker Wolfe and Henegren didn’t make teams but are still major bright spots.

The biggest glaring problem with the Flagstaff group is that their best runner is an ADIDAS athlete!
The second biggest problem with the Flagstaff group is that Mike Smith isn't what they thought he was. He is a solid coach, but I think Ben Thomas or Milt at altitude with that level of talent would have much better results than Smith.
