ICE's Online Detainee Locator System did not list a Hector Luis Valdes-Cocho born in Cuba in detention at the time of this writing. In June 2025, Snopes found a Hector Luis Valdes-Cocho born in Cuba in ICE custody at Otay Mesa Detention Center in California, according to the locator system.
Snopes was unable to view the details of Valdés' immigration case without his alien registration number (also known as an A-Number), which is not generally publicly available information, at the time of our original reporting. It was unclear whether that information would still be available if ICE had released Valdés by October. Snopes still could not access Valdés' A-number then. It remained unclear under what conditions ICE might have released Valdés.
Though popular online claims said Valdés was a leader in the Latinos for Trump campaign movement, we found no credible reports linking him to this particular group (archived, archived, archived). Valdés' Facebook and Instagram accounts were inactive at the time of this writing, so they could not provide additional information about his political activities. Given the above, we leave this claim unrated.

Further proof if any was needed that Trump has no loyalty to anyone but himself, no matter how much a supporter is loyal to him. He has betrayed hundreds of former cabinet members, staffers, and republican congressional reps, including Marjorie Taylor Greene who practically worshipped the ground he walks on. Recent polls show his support has dwindled and this Latino supporter demonstrates why. Trump is the phoniest backstabbing and betraying liar in political history. Julius Caesar could trust Brutus more than anyone should trust Trump. It is sad to that some people still don’t get it and seem willing to throw our country away to a tyrant.

Trump is so dumb that he does not even know what the word objectively means. He doesn’t look at anything objectively. If Trump intervened to spare this man from proper legal scrutiny because of his support for Trump, I suspect that you would also be decrying Trump for his political favoritism and applying the law unequally.

Trump ran on Deporting Illegal Immigrants; his voters knew this and still voted for him. The crime syndicates (D) inaction at the border and that joke of a candidate they tried to install without a primary also played a big role. Get in line like everybody else. Oh, ICE raids will continue through the night so criminals let your guard down. We can't have anymore tragedies like this...........
