Great job Australian 4x2. Jess Hull gets gold.
Kiplimo untouchable. Very impressive after marathon
Ngetich absolutley dominant.
US jr men pumped with medal.
Parker Wolfe good run.

Biggest losers - Team USA. They did not "shock the world". 😔
Winners: Citius
Losers: Letsrun
big mess up on not having an alternate ready for the men's 10K.

It wouldn't have moved them up anyway, even if the alternate beat Kiplimo
Biggest Losers - The American public who tuned in to watch a World class meet only to be treated to outstanding views of treetops from drones.
Losers: anyone that parked at the venue
Ngetich would’ve placed 55th in men’s race with her 31:28. Incredible stuff!
SHK biggest loser for sure. American women overall just horrendous. So embarrassing for a meet at home, and Australia won so no need to talk about Africans
Anyone who thinks they were going to see a true world competition with best representation from each country and especially the US. Less than the World Indoor championships or DL in terms of hype, overall performance and interest. US men had huge potential but its not to be due to "injuries", lack of interest and timing by a few that could have made a difference. Ultimately, I dont believe we are better than the top 3 teams until we can prove it but it would be nice to give our best shot by having our best consider being a team. XC is definitely a different sport than just a bunch of track 10k, 5k and marathon guys doing an off road race.
Loser: #1 whoever was in charge of the TV coverage. It was primarily overhead drone shots, aside from the “obstacles”. Annoying.
#2 The visa fiasco for the Ethiopian team. Sign of the times.
Curious as to why the Moroccan 4x2k was a no show at the last moment?
McDonald and Young a full 2 minutes behind the winner- ouch.
Gressier exposed.
Kelati will need some time off after this one.
Jr American boys with solid showing.
Senior American women with solid showing.
Wolfe and Blanks with solid showing.
Kiptoo taking it out- well done- nice to see that.
Kiplimo and Ngetich completely dominant.

Certainly a poor leg out of Klecker.

Overlooked Kurgat…easy to do with the televised coverage. Very impressive at what is surely her mid 30’s?
I think in general the biggest loser was "the US holding a world athletics championships event".
As much as I love Hayward field and what they do in Eugene, Budapest and Tokyo just exposed the difference between holding the event in either a heartbeat European track nation or truly global city, and today it was clear that while the American running community is passionate about the sport, the country is too big and just has too many other distractions going on to capture even fringe fans showing up in numbers.
It is what it is - it's just not happening here I'm afraid.
Biggest winners & LOSERS from World XC
Why do insist on starting threads like this wejo? This is poison. I know you two want to believe that the lrc message board is what runners talk about on their daily runs, but never in my life have any of the teams I've been associated with did anyone talk about sheet like this. High school? NOPE. College? NOPE. Or as a Professional? NOPE. What causes you to think that way?
#1. As others have noted, the drone coverage was terrible. Usatf couldn't narrow the course by 2.5m to accommodate a gator? The biggest race only had about 100 athletes, so there was no need for super wide running surface.
#2. The Rocky Hansen situation. What a hot mess.

Let's hear them. Live show on now
Great running by former Iowa Central and Aussie Leanne Pompeani placing 15th. Watch out for her at Boston this year.
Apparently Hansen didn't let USATF know until yesterday per the brojos. Very selfish from him if true.

I personally loved seeing the kona ice truck every lap, that’s what I tuned in for
