So 50 mpw week is the same "training load" in your book whether it's 10 mpw running 40 walking as 40 running 10 walking?
if you're a data oriented person, into tracking trends and progress, you should be aware of both, and how that changes over time. And how that tracks with your progress.
But count the mileage however you want.
Personally, I'd feel dishonest if I told someone I was running 50 mpw, when it was actually 40 running and 10 walking.
I have a close friend who counts his walking mileage. He's very upfront about it. I pass no judgement and he's one of my favorite people in the world

Not the only one. 10 miles of walking is a greater training load than 5 miles of walking. 10 miles of running is a greater training load than 5 miles of running. 2 miles of walking and 10 miles of running is a greater training load than 0 miles of walking and 10 miles of running.
