She is English, not Scottish. Her hometown is London.

On that topic, do the separate countries of the UK have their own track federations? For soccer, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have their own federations and compete in international events for them. In the Olympics they all compete for the UK.

Yes, England, Scotland, Wales all have individual track/XC federations. Most junior/developmental/vets teams are England/Scotland/Wales as opposed to GB. Also at Comm games.

There are a lot of collegians competing on the U20 team. I was primarily interested in those competing on the senior teams, either for the USA or other countries, and that were in the NCAA.

I assume that if England, Scotland, and Wales all their own federations then Northern Ireland does as well?

So crazy how there are more young distance runners in the US competing at the international level now, following the increased competition from international runners at the collegiate level.

Rocky Hansen himself admitted that having international athletes was better for the competition (and impliedly that he's a better runner for having international competition).

I'm proud to have better young Americans competing at the international level. I'm way more proud of that than I am of having a few more whiny college kids who aren't going to go on to do anything in the sport finish in the top 40 spots.

Has anyone seen any info on why Habtom Samuel doesn't seem to get selected for Eritrean teams? I would have liked to see him at World XC, but given that Eritrea didn't send him to the last Olympics or Tokyo World Champs I'm guessing he won't be on this team either.

Eritrea is basically Africa's North Korea. He defected from the country after world cross in Australia and laid bricks for three months in Sydney to save up for his flight to Albuquerque. Needless to say, he's not exactly a popular guy in the government's eyes.
