Who does Jakob think of first that motivates him to train when he wakes up? I feel like it’s Hocker because he has won gold the last 2 championships they’ve raced each other in. It probably was Kerr in 2023/2024 but that ship has kind of sailed. Hope we see all three at world indoors.

Definitely Hocker. Kerr isn’t worthy of such a title.

Kerr is his rival. Hocker is his daddy. Nuguse is the ghost who haunts his nightmares.

Actually, it's Cooper Teare. You may not have known but they've been rivals for a long time!
Are you talking about the same runner who didn't qualify for the WC final in his main event and finished 10th in the other? Everybody who finished in front of him in the WC is his "main rival" now.

Yes, the two times Olympic champion, two times world outdoor champion, two times world indoor champion, 20+ times european champion, world record holder for 2000m, 3000m, 2 Miles, world indoor record holder 1500m, Mile.
His main rival is an eight-year-old boy from Stavanger named Mads that has a better collection of rare Pokemon cards. Mads clearly cheats since his uncle owns a shop ensuring that Mads get first crack at new collector packs before they go on sale.
He definitely doesn't believe that he has any rivals. In one of his latest videos he said something like he's the world's fastest race car, but he's in the garage whilst slower cars are out there racing. No one wants to see slow cars race.
Obviously, this is just his mindset to help him believe in his process to achieve lofty goals. The reality is that he has several rivals.

I think Jakob’s hardest rival in the 1500m is the “injury ghost”… And in addition to that, he himself (as he has stressed) doing something (strategically stupid), or becoming sick, that makes him his own worst enemy (like f.x in OG 2024),
When it comes to other athletes and their capacity I think Cheruiyot 2020 was his hardest rival (probably 3.26.5 or better capacity in a well paced race), and then Habz (who did a real 3.27, without competitors drafting him 1400m.) On a joined fourth place I think. Hocker, Kerr, Nuguse are well mentioned, but who knows -one or all might improve and become real (without the drafting) 3.27 runners (or even better). And then we have Laros, the Koech’es, and many others….
Saying all this, I don’t think Jakob has had any real competition the last two/three years -uninjured, healthy and with a little luck/balanced strategy/pace. But the 1500m is so difficult to race that even a superior athlete might lose more than once (like f.x El Guerrouj)…
