Very unlikely we see Valby ever make a US track team ever again

She can’t stay healthy and lots of other things added to this situation make it very likely she just drifts away. Going back to the terrible coach in Florida doesn’t help either.

She is coming off injury. She will make a team in 27 or 26 if she tries for xc again.

Valby can’t stay healthy, keeps bouncing between coaches shows it’s her not the coach, and has never had real long-term training stability. Add in early guidance tied to a publicly sanctioned doping coach, a dad making elite level career decisions in a world he clearly doesn’t understand, glaring mechanical flaws in her running form, and the constant injury cycle suddenly makes this prediction very likely

She looks terrible when she runs and is always coming off injures and that leads to the deeper rooted problem.

So, was she supposed to stay with her HS coach the entire time and not go to college? Or follow Solinsky to Oregon? Or remain in college forever and never join a pro team?

She has made one coaching change, and it was to go back to the one that took her to the Olympics. Smart move.

NB paid her way to much to not be great

The injury she had early in the year is a bad one. Takes a long time to heal. I was amazed how well she did at xc champs. So yea, she has injuries, but her ceiling is pretty impressive. Hopefully something changes physically.

She was NEVER part of Team Boss. Coburn is a fellow NB athlete and friend and probably invited her out for a week to run. Maybe Coburn was trying to get her to join Boss, maybe not. Maybe Valby went out there for a week to see if she liked it. Who knows? But she was there about a week, did some running with Coburn, played golf with her, and played with her daughter and came home.

So, I guess Tuohy left Henes and came back to her, right? After all, she was out in Arizona for quite a while with Elly Henes and some other old NC State runners. Does that mean she changed coaches? No, she was just visiting friends for some running, no different than Valby.

She tried it and it didn’t workout. She jumped ship fast

If so, she should take a long, hard look at how that path worked out for Athing. And Colleen Quigley.

I think the bigger issue that everyone is ignoring is that valby seems to “almost” quit the sport every time she’s not winning. Lol.
