My least fav running going for the 600m WR in a week at BU. Wouldn’t be surprised if he runs 1:12 after taking no time off in more ways than one. Thank God rinaldi isn’t associated with this anymore.
If a dude with a 3:29 1500 PR set the AR in the indoor 600m that would be INSANE
WR*
it didn’t click for a second that in indoor the 600m WR and AR are the same thing
OP is obviously a hater(maybe justifiably so), but Hoey has been exciting to watch, more interesting I think, now that he choked a bit outdoors compared to his dominant indoor campaign this year.
i don’t think he can run 1:12, indoors or out, but a 1:14.low isn’t unimaginable
I am absolutely a hater. It’s not fun watching a guy who was literally mid make a mockery of the sport. On top of that it creates a narrative that you’re only going to be good if you have access to everything you need.

He’s not exciting to watch because he’s the most obvious doper in the sport, even more so than Mo Katie.

It’s funny that people don’t think like this with him. I’m not gonna explain the obvious reason why.

Flat 1:42 guy. Has split 49 something in the 800 and comeback in sub 53. Can he do 48 followed by 24? Tough ask. Not impossible

Hmm I thought this was happening at the UPenn facility

PS. As a former coach, this seems insane. He basically had a continuous 2024-2025 and now is going to just keep going to 2025-2026.

This is the most salient point there - good stuff Rojito.
He can't be so disconnected from the world that he doesn't read things, see things, hear things that could help him make better informed decisions? Like okay, you didn't agree with Justin, what would he know (rolling eyes) - but there is nothing you've seen that points to this not necessarily being a good idea?
The thing is, if he was the type of guy who in the middle of his winter work could just turn up after a week of lower mileage and a few strides and put in a good effort over a distance like the 600m, this would be fine. But he's not. He's the type of guy that will run himself to a standstill to get this record believing it's actually meaningful - it will be arms, legs and grimmaces all over the track just to get this "record". And to run in the 72-73 range for 600m you are not turning up without putting in some solid anaerobic work on a track to begin with - he's good but not that good.
I could honestly see him running under 1.43 this indoor season. He might even threaten Kipketers WR. He's basically been going non-stop all of 2025 so I doubt his shape will have slipped that much. But all this is, is a ticking time tomb before his body is like "I don't care that your brain apparently has no self-defence/shut-off mechanism for punishment, I'm done" - and it's going to happen.
Just stay off the damn track until February dude. Come on.

Yes, it’s been years, but we’re about to finally see the repercussions for running on pure hate
