Dont get yourself wrong about, advanced studies say that only countries with ancient ancestry living in altitude are good in middle and long distances.
Africa Kenya/ Uganda - Kalenjin people Ethiopia - Oromo population Morocco - Ancestral Amazigh living on three unique channels of mountain in Africa + Oldest Traces of Homosapien found so far in the world
I WOULD NOT HAVE WRITTEN THIS IF I HAD THE SLIGHTEST DOUBT

Norway´s count is COMPLETELY wrong. 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze?!
The Ingebrigtsen family alone has won 4 golds and I think Grøvdahl has won many medals, including gold. And a young man medaled in 2023 the year Jakob was injured.
Disclaimer: I am not Norwegian.
So perhaps you should have had a little doubt after all.
The Norwegian phenom started mostly by 2021 (same time as Jakob) with the other girl Godjval or whatever her name. Notice that she started to shine only by the age 30+.
Which mean its only question of "fork methods" in the training methodology.

The Norwegian phenomena in xc started in the 1970s, when Grete Waitz won WC xc 5 times. It went on with Ingrid Kristiansen’s WC xc gold in the 1980s. In 2009 Karoline Grøvdal won Euros xc u20, and Henrik Ingebrigtsen won the U23 xc class in 2012.
In 2016 Jakob won his first of 4 golds in Euros xc U20, and then 3 golds in the senior event. Karoline Grøvdal won senior gold (Euros xc) in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Filip Ingebrigtsen won the senior xc gold in 2018. And finally Magnus Tuv Myhre got the senior silver medal in Euros xc 2023.
This is only off the top of my head -I might have forgotten some achievements (well, e.g team medals, both junior and senior -know about at least a couple, and I should also had mentioned Grøvdal’s many bronze medals). Conclusion: I think your Norwegian xc narrative is a little flawed…

4 years doping ban. Amazing he's gotten back. Hopefully will stay clean now.
He ran 13:05 in Rome, 2015.
Fifa won the 5000m in Euros 2016 in the closest race I ever have seen -check it out: four guys on the same hundreds of a second. Think Henrik Ingebrigtsen was 0.002 sec from the win, without even medaling -he was injury prone that season, but his last lap must have been one of the most sensational in any Euros. (He medalled behind his brother’s gold in the 1500m).

I was too focused on only golds when I started writing this post, so I forgot to mention that Grete Waitz in addition to her 5 WC xc golds also had two bronzes, and that Ingrid Kristiansen got three bronze medals to her one gold. An that brings me to the most recent bronze that was Andreas Fjeld Halvorsen’s in the Euros xc U20 2024…
I'll be in Salamanca, Spain, 22/12/2025 -30/12/2025.
Any elite clubs or distance runners in Salamanca? I've searched online without seeing anything special, except info about their summer meet and their great indoor facility.
