Unfortunately, the condition of this gorgeous racetrack of a course is going to play a role tomorrow. It stopped raining just after noon, but the sun never came out today. 89% humidity at 5PM, 91% humidity at 10PM.
- 30% of the course is spongy/squishy wet grass, firm enough and mostly away from the tangents, which should be fine.
- 50% of the course is wet short grass that should hold up in most places away from the tangents, although maybe not in the tangents.
- 15% of the course is soaking wet very short grass that is going to get torn up and sloppy in the tangents, at best.
- 5% soaking wet bare or almost-bare ground in/near the tangents that is already sloppy and potentially slippery in places.
Good luck to the teams and individuals competing tomorrow. In spite of the stakes, I hope they all have some fun out there running in the mud.
