I don’t care if their state race is too close to NXR. Make it to NXR and get top 2-4 or don’t go to NXN. Nothing else to say about it. Marcelo shouldn’t get an individual bid either from the state race.

northwest is starting to look less likely because Mead hasn’t beaten any autoqualifiers and they haven’t raced anyone outside the region
Being from the NW I'm biased, but I would think losing to an autoqualifier by 1 should factor in.
happened last year to Webb School girls in the Southeast. Finished 3rd at NXR SE, 1 point behind 2nd and 8 points behind 1st. Those two teams ended up 12th and 13th at nationals and Webb School didn't go.

Exactly. Belen could have easily won their state meet race without Mantecon. They are in 3A and all other top FL teams are in 4A. If he doesn’t get selected there’s always Brooks.

the nike meet didn't move. It's been the saturday before thanksgiving since at least the covid break. Florida is the one that moves the state meet to a different weekend every year.

Why should it? In theory the at-larges are supposed to be teams that have shown they are better than auto-quals from other regions. Mead simply hasn't done that.
Losing by 1 is still losing, and both were way behind Jesuit. Lincoln has been reliably good all year but I don't think they would be in the mix either if the results were flipped.
If both were a lot closer to Jesuit I think it's a different story.
