Record revenue (up 21.5% from 2023 thanks to an Olympic Trials + increased membership dues). Still operated at a loss although they said they expect to make a profit in 2025.
ATHLETICS: USA Track & Field announces record $44.59 million 2024 revenue, but still lost $1.19 million, has –$6.1 million in net assets - The Sports Examiner - Your all-in-one coverage of Olympic-sports news, views, previews...
And for 1st time ever they appear to have broken out what their sponsors are paying them: $18,168,565: Nike $750,000: NBC $450,000: Comcast Cable $340,000: Toyota $256,792: Hershey $250,000: Prevagen $100,004: Hyperice $100,000: Garden of Life $99,998: Orlando Health
So they have 1 big sponsor still. NBC (which is also Comcast cable) then paid them presumable for the Trials. the other sponsors are smaller than I thought they'd be
Fallout from Mike Reilly and Track Town USA disaster of World Champs 2022. USATF is still in trouble. Only Max and Lloyd his Marine bodyguard is paid. The rest are rich unpaid volunteer grandkids from Nike. Everyone else was fired in rounds since the 2022 Eugene flop.

USA has a population approximately 13 times bigger than Australia.
The last 2 years Athletics Australia has had annual revenue of AUD 21,996,519 and AUD 20,113,165, or approximately USD 13m
Based on the domestic audience being 13 times bigger, and the international exposure of team USATF being so much bigger than AA with their performance at global championships, USATF should probably be turning over more than 3 times the revenue that AA does. I wonder how Jane Flemming's salary compares to Max Siegel?

Isn't 11 Million of that from the Australian government though?
That's the difference of Max Siegel's salary last year. At least it's down to a little over a million and not around 10% of the annual revenue like it was a few years ago.
Still pretty crazy that most starting NFL QBs get paid more than the entire USATF revenue.
Hollywood and Congress fomalized USOC and specific sports in 78 as caretakers of amatuer feeder clubs to the USA oly team. Since then Hollywood NFL, MLB, NBA and Europe Futbol have raised expectations to an unrealistic frenzy. USOC etc. was never designed as a profit venture. Rather it still today 100% totally, as intended, a fraternal, charity, non-profit, kids sports organization.
How Max still has a job is mind blowing! He's an awful leader and businessman. Anyone who works in partnerships, marketing, and communications should be fired. USATF is such a joke. It should be the powerhouse in the Olympic movement, making money and doing good, yet they continually fail at everything they do. Without the Nike money, the org would be dead.

Unfair. USATF is a not a pro league and Max is not a CEO in a traditional corporation. He has to take care of Age Group, Para, Masters, deaf, blind, disabled, etc. It takes a BIG heart to do all that. It's hard to find a leader like Max that will do that day and night.

Agreed, except that because of the Nike money they are on life support. That ridiculous, no-bid contract Max “negotiated” with Nike absolutely limits USATF’s ability to make money like it could. The contract benefited Nike first and foremost and then Max. The benefit to USATF was hardly a concern.
