Ok these new Nike prototype shoes just look plain weird. Are meant to enhance the connection between mind and body. Not sure if there will be lines out the door to buy these just yet lol

Are you supposed to put those on your feet?

Apparently yes
These look like they are one muddy puddle away from connecting your head to the ground.
when will they be coming out with the balls-shoe connecting you to your ball-testical region.
What's a "testical"? A Tactical testicle?
Is this like Nike free ?
Majority of LRCers, including the co-flounders, will put on the Nike Mind shoes and defensively wonder why they don't work on them.
Yeah there is a reason Nike stock is about to hit the roaring 50's next week and has plummeted almost 12% in the last month alone (and down 53% in the last 5 years)
Innovation took a back seat to invention and gadgetry and this an another perfect example of that. Because with this idea you totally rely on your consumer believing something is going on (because there is no way to measure if it is) but the question is, is what they think is going on powerful enough to be a legit value proposition?
Once again, for a brand that supposedly had a "come to Jesus" moment about innovation that really matters to athletes, this and the "robotic leg" gadget just don't seem to map onto that narrative.
It's really a recovery slide idea - a pimped up oofos slide. Will people want to pay a premium for the little bumps under their feet? I would question that market fit. And here is the other thing that makes this so underwhelming. The concept isn't even new and has been done before in various forms. Check this out
It's the same concept in a $47 removable insole that you can put in any shoe you already own.
In terms of the execution, adidas did this on a shoe called the adistar Raven back in 2012/13 but under the guise of traction.

The light grey lugs functioned the same as the little balls except they didn't push into your feet, they were marketed as "adapting to the underfoot terrain".
It just shows that it doesn't take much anymore for the train to come off the tracks. It's not a two-horse (Nike and adidas) market race anymore and you can't be complacent or lazy with your ideas because there are plenty of smaller brands out there to capture that space that was once the easy growth edge you just assumed by default.
Boo hoo, seems like Stichmo is butthurt because the Nike stock he bought before he got fired is tanking.
More crap, just run barefoot if you want mind to feet connection you can't beat the 200,000 nerve endings in the sole 🤦♂️
Masai Barefoot Technology Light?
If the bumps go both ways (outside AND inside) I might be interrested. Had one of those woowoo pressure points new age thingamajig slippers once, like twenty years back or more - and they were actually quite relaxing to walk around in, but only held up like less than two years and for indoor use. Cheap Plastic stuff my GF at the time bought two pairs off. Haven't really thought about them in a long time, they weren't revolutionary, but they weren't bad either.
This shoe is a gimmick and if your going to do gimmicks, why not do a running version of that basketball gimmick shoe of a few years ago that lit up every time you stepped down. Just as practical and would cost a lot less to make.
I am intrigued.

if you think you’ll wear them, I don’t mind.

Wow, that was a good one.
If only I was so lucky to have a bunch of Nike shares purchased via the employee share program for $25 back in the day. And the funny thing is, even in the event I was a large Nike shareholder - isn't this exactly what a shareholder should be saying about the state of the brand which is literally the worst performing Dow Jones stock in the last 5 years by a massive margin?
But since you disagree, which is fine, by all means go ahead and make an actual case as to how this latest "innovation" is going to support bringing this brand back as a respected and desired sports brand.
I product tested a version on this. Not bad.
