Impressive, but nothing will ever top Bob Weiland in 1986. It took him over four days to finish, but he finished. Toughest marathon ever done.

In the realm of distance events or even road events, this is probably the pinnacle.... given in 1986, I was 12 and they weren't covering road races. This is beautiful.
Holy crap

Wow 🫡
As a recent amputee, I am always looking for inspiration. Being a former professional runner, the transition to being confined to a wheelchair is extremely difficult. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially it takes its toll.

Hang in there, man. I was never half as good a runner as you, nor am I half as disabled, but I can relate a little: permanently injured and unable to run for half a century. I eventually found other ways to compete in sports.
Life does get better. That can take a good while, I'm sorry to say, but it does get better. Give yourself a chance.
I know everyone here views anything over 2:02 as hobby jogging, but if you're in NY for the marathon go back to the finish line after 8pm or so for "final finishers" - it is incredibly inspiring watching these people who worked so hard cross the finish line.
Except for that one lady that is going kind of viral on tik tok for the speech she made. If you know you know.
