Well...bye. He was a scumbag whose steroids ruse seems quaint and unsophisticated compared to the massive doping going on in sports today. Rest easy, slick.
He sincerely regretted his actions and has been arguably one of the most influential anti doping figures. He focused on boxing most recently to help testers catch cheats. Because he beat the testers in the 2000s. If you would listen to him speak, you would be aware that he’s not a POS, and regrets his actions.
Long live ZMA

I don't think so he was involved in starting the sophisticated PED programs that are still going on track and field and other sports.
His whistleblowing exposed the fraud of clean athletes at the world level.
He was a legend. Revilized MLB with the home run chase, bonds sosa mcguire. Not to mention all the track stars that shined during his time and all those Jamaicans like bolt who benefited later on. Conte was a visionary.
Seems like a guy with his drug knowledge and access could have made a concoction to get himself past 75...
Slime.
on all levels.
Victor rocked 🎤

Let's not kid ourselves, he got caught, and then decided to help with anti-doping. It wasn't a virtuous change, it was his only option to keep his image somewhat credible. He did a lot damage and some good for the sport. But regretting something doesn't mean you are a good person. ex: People who cheat on their spouse regret it right when the get caught.

What people fail to know is that Victor Conte was not a steroid pusher. Yes, he "designed" steroids for some of the world's greatest (cheater) athletes which included Barry Bonds, CJ Hunter, Tim Montgomery, Regina Jacobs, and Marion Jones. What is not known is that these athletes (and many others) approached Victor, and asked him to create an undetectable steroid (The Cream) that would level the playing field in track so as they could be competitive in a steroid riddled era for their events. Regina was the only known middle distance runner to be on "The Cream" and other PED's provided by Victor. Victor's primary product SNAC-ZMA which was a legal and non PED mineral supplement program he discovered, as it proved to be a beneficial supplement. That being said, Victor's choice to partake in the world of illegal PED's tainted his reputation and rightfully so. He simply couldn't turn down the money from these world class athletes, of which Barry Bonds was known to pay a HUGE amount of money. A little known fact about Victor, he was one of the pioneers of developing legal training supplements (SNAC) for body builders who wanted to be steroid-free. Kind of ironic that he ended up being the manufacturer of one of the best illegal PED's ever.
You simply cannot excuse someone for years of conscious, knowing actions to harm the integrity of sport by the fact that, out of self-interest, he worked later on, after being caught, to communicate about the sophisticated doping strategies still at work.

Steroids, HGH, testosterone, pumping that stuff into your body to enhance performance today is 100% at the expense of future health and longevity. I know it doesn't say he himself took the garbage, but it had to have been tempting as an aging guy surrounded by super-jocks and literal buckets of the stuff.
He squealed like a pig on his customers to get a reduced sentence and when he got out of prison essentially continued in his business of making supplements and other concoctions in the same building he had BALCO in!
Of course he had to come up with a new narrative to keep his business afloat.
But his earlier life in Tower of Power had a very tight horn section. So a mixed review.
It is ironic how many nike athletes have been busted for ped use. Did nike promote Mr. Conte??
Perhaps you can interview Mr. Alberto Salazar the czar of nike ped's
RIP Legend!
as sort of anti ped, at least when it comes to the even playing field, where the best man wins as compared to who has the best drugs..
Conte did the crime, did his time, and the community benefitted greatly with the expose on peds.
naysayers shoot the messenger, authorities convict in such an immoral disgusting fashion, that nobody in their right mind will come clean moving forward.
Conte was a great man.
regarding his death and cancer, that is a whole different subject.
Peds used correctly are longevity makers.
and incorrectly, like a glass of wine compared to two bottles a day..... is an obvious recipe for disaster.
