From my perspective, it doesn't seem like the Cardinals did that well at their ACC conference meet this year. It makes me wonder if they will even make it to nationals this year. What do you guys think?
It’s the same coach who a couple years ago had multiple NCAA champions. So… not sure about this unless the guys just don’t take it seriously or have other priorities.
One thing is for sure though, Leo has been killing it this season! He might even individually qualify for nationals himself!
So, one of the best high school recruits of all time might be able to qualify to participate in the National meet as a junior and you think he’s killing it?

And there it is…any chance some of you get to take a swing at Lex or Leo. So ‘yes’ he’s running well this year. Doesn’t matter in the slightest how he was considered as a high school recruit. I mean let go of it man. He’s running well right now, just admit that and show a little grace

Show some grace? is this like a sympathy thing? He’s doing OK for a high level recruit, but killing it - hardly. I would guess when Lex and Leo were coming out of high school, if you would have asked most people (including the twins) what would “killing it” in the NCAA would have meant for them, would have said to maybe qualify for the national meet. How is it taking a swing at them to say someone doesn’t think they’re “killing it”?
The same guy would have scolded you had you predicted their current results a few years ago. Now he says they are killing it. They are not busts but certainly are if you are the coach who gave them decent money.

Wow! A little sensitive aren’t we?
Saying you don’t think someone is killing it is taking a swipe at them?
Let’s crack out the participation trophies for the snowflake.

Obviously Lex got injured and hopefully he rebounds but Leo looks like a string professional running prospect. He ran 3:35 in the 1500m as a sophomore and now sub 23 in a cross country 8k. He likely won’t end up as good as Nico, but he could develop into a sub 13 guy, he already has the wheels.

Fair points. He’s a very solid professional prospect. With that in mind, for a serious running prospect, he is NOT killing it.

Based on his track results (3:35 as a sophomore!), I think it's safe to say he's a 1500m guy. Individually qualifying for XC as a 1500 guy is killing it. As good as he was in HS XC, 5k is a whole different beast than 10k.
I agree they didn't look too strong at ACCs this year. I think a week or two ago I said they have a really young team, and if Lex stays healthy, next year they could have a podium contending team. This year though, I fear they may not even make it.

Based on his TFRRS, he’s a 3:38, 7:54,13:31 guy. Not sure that’s a 1500 guy. He’s a good runner and has some really good results (made USA’s XC, etc). Based on his past performances, I would say he’s currently running OK, but somewhat below his past performance level, not killing it.
Maybe our definitions of killing it are different. To me, saying he is killing it is saying he is running at his best for a period of time. I wouldn’t consider his current season to be at his best. Doesn't mean he’s bad or that i’m somehow attacking him. He’s certainly running better than most of the Stanford team.
