Instead of issuing bans, we need antidoping to become just a bigger version of bodybuilding gear talk.

Assays will now be used like the genetic testing on Maury and Jerry Springer. It will be a gossip circle, then we'll guess what supplements or drugs a person took, place bets, and the findings will confirm or deny.

Since almost everyone is using something, anyway, this would allow people currently in doping authorities to keep their jobs, keep the niche filled, and keep cranking money.

I was trolled about Asinga in another thread, and offered my opinions there.

Unlike WADA and the CAS, I don't equate an athlete's failure to establish a most likely scenario to an athlete's intentional doping. I give athletes like Asinga the benefit of the doubt, and wonder if he is yet another athlete railroaded to a 4-year ban, for doing nothing wrong.

You give all dopers the benefit of the doubt, let's be honest now.

If, and that is a big if, it's not trolling, then it has to be a combination of extremely low IQ, extreme stubbornness, and an extreme superiority complex.

You've got to be really stupid to actually believe that this wasn't a desperate athlete trying a hail mary.

But it makes no difference to you, because when it's 100% clear the athlete did actually try to cheat, you just say the drugs don't work anyway so it doesn't even matter.

GW1516 should be banned solely for health reasons, as it is not approved for human use, and low doses caused cancer in mice.

Whether drugs have any performance benefit, and whether athletes try to cheat, are two separate discussions. This thread is about his ban. If it is established that an athlete tried to cheat, by all means, sanction him/her, regardless of benefit. But if you want to suggest, or try to persuade me, that GW1516 could improve sprinter's performance, I remain open to evaluating all the evidence.
