He’s legit and not a novice at running. He was a runner before taking up cycling and then retired after last year to pursue a career doing triathlons.

Not bad - but with the caveat that he's 29, and has multiple years of incredibly high training volumes and a background in running (i.e., probably pretty close to his ceiling already). Looks like he's doing up to 200 km/week - will be interesting to see how long that is sustainable for.

Current pro cyclist (pro triathlete) and Olympic Triathlon champ finished the Valencia half in 61:30, which was 7 seconds and 3 places ahead of Jimmy Whelan.

Valencia has been the site of the 2 previous WRs before Kiplimo's, so...

I watched the Spanish broadcast of the Valencia Half Marathon on YouTube and the two Spanish commentators were commenting that after the halfway mark the course was slightly downhill all the way to the finish or part of the way to the finish I can't remember exactly the words but a significant portion of the race was slightly downhill so I'm not sure how that counts for ratification.

The course is elegible for records, as the star and finish are just like 200 metres apart.. its a loop around Valencia. It is slightly uphill for the first 10K, and slightky downhill for the last 10K. However the last 2/3 k are tough ish.

Faster than any of the current MTC lot are managing. A bright future ahead.

Except he's been training with MTC. So let's see how long it takes for Bideau ruin him.

An ex pro cyclist no one has heard off had pretty much the same time as the fastest runner ever in triathlon. Yes I would say Pro Cycling is tough.

Olympic draft legal triathlon is pro class level crit racing, but these guys probably would be domestiques in the peloton

LOL. No it's not. They all have good engines, but the pack handling skills and tactics in draft legal triathlons is comically bad compared to even domestic level crit racing.
