He an a 46.14 The 17-year-old thanked his coach, Di Sheppard, and Ipswich Grammar school for the wild ride as he signed off as a schoolboy athlete by breaking his own meet record at the GPS Track and Field championships in Brisbane on Friday... Gout skipped his pet 200m event to run the 400m and 4x100m relay at the meet, and things almost didn’t go to script. Brisbane Grammar’s Seth Kennedy had earlier broken Gout’s 200m GPS record in a stunning 20.64s, and he pushed the Ipswich star to his full capacity in the one-lap event.
Gout broke his own meet record to win in a personal-best 46.14, just a lunge ahead of Kennedy (46.64), who was also under the old mark.
Gout Gout? I smell a Sirhan Sirhan. And he leaned at the tape to beat a *Kennedy.* Time to put on my official Letsrun tinfoil hat...
A bit wordy. Clichéd. American references alienate the European forum contingent. Keep trying you'll get there.
Not cliched, but clever. And the European contingent’s alienation is immaterial. Theyr’e just our east border with Russia and they’ll do as they’re told. You’re welcome.
I gathered my whole family to watch this guy at Worlds, told everyone he was the new Bolt... and then he didn't even make the Final.
I'm a joke among my family now.
Every time I'm watching track on tv some family member comes to me and say: "Is that the new Bolt? What about that other guy? And that one?"
no, he is following the bolt script in terms of progression. he like every top performer isnt cookie cutter. look at the greats, they are not that much alike, though the hard of thinking always say, so and so is the next ... jordan, gretzky, ali, messi. there is never, ever, ever a next.
that said, bolt kind of floundered for a couple of years from teens to early 20 21, lazy some say, but that was good that he was able to mature properly, and run number 5 in the top races,,,, once the vitamin and training proper kicked in, aka charlie francis protocol jamaica man style, it was on. no slander to bolt, everybody was on the same protocol more or less.
gout gout jumps off the page the way he runs. and a 46 flat is very good for a very young short sprinter, bolt was 45 mid at that age, and was kind of focused on 2 and 4. and the vitamin protocol, i have zero comment, i am not looking under that hood, as this guy has talent first, and give him and coach a break.
not so with the kenya miler that wants to go sub4, send that delusional fraud to siberia, hard labor for 4 years, to work beside the criminal men, of equal testosterone.
