Guardian article states that the shoes provide a huge metabolic benefit at slower paces and the author who tried them on reported feeling less impact forces. The current version is supposedly not able to help with faster paces, but is that going to change in the future? As the product advance will the bulk from the machinery decrease and the energy return increase. I'm (maybe irrationally) imagining a scenario where runners are able to run mile pace for all their easy runs with the impact force of a normal easy run. Obviously this is many years from now, but it still seems like a potential threat. Will Hicham El Guerrouj's record finally fall, cause of cyborgs?
