JANE HEDENGREN WINS
Freshman Jane Hedengren takes first at her debut race and sets the new course record at Gans Creek with a time of 18:42.3 🤯
I'm impressed with the time, but even more impressed on how far she buried Jelego and Chamberlain. Neither are slouches. Just wow.
Yes, Chamberlain stepped up and was only 1 second off the winning time of the Gans Creek Classic which had several top teams in it. Oregon, Florida, etc.
Will she go pro after outdoor season? Idk if there is a way, but would be neat to see her run 4 years at BYU
The real deal.

My guess is that if everything goes to plan she gets her degree in 3 years and goes pro before the Olympics in 2028.

No reason to go pro anymore. She can make a ton of money in NIL and still compete for BYU. I highly doubt we see her leave early. Students who go to BYU generally go there for more than just athletics and academics. I expect she will compete all four years.

She didn’t run Nuttycombe.
I thought she ran Pike’s Peak

Elizabeth Leachman never said that. She only said that she wasn't feeling 100% and she wasn't sure she was even going to run last year's post season.
Real women run 8K or 10K. Sissies run 6K.

These days with NIL there's not much of a reason to go pro early. Unless you're dominating everyone. With the school she can get a full scholarship, all meals covered, housing covered, etc... And make money from NIL.

That would require her loading up on credits each term and taking summer classes. Terrible idea for someone trying to train at a high level.
She can turn pro anytime and still complete her degree.
