The title was originally "Pre Nats move to Fri". We added more to it to make it mroe descriptive. Here is a weather forecast that shows a 45% chance of thunderstorms. Columbia, MO Local Weather | AccuWeather
Kind of surprised this has not already been posted but Pre Nata moved to Fri because of forecast of real bad storms possible on Saturday. Smart move by UM staff

ok I see PTTiming now has it listed for Friday - and I think originally they had it on Saturday.
They postponed a cross country meet because there is an 85% chance of thunderstorms?
I can't imagine that's true. Are teams even there early enough to race the day before?
I think you mean preponed. I would guess that they don't want to tear up the course when they still have to run the state championship and ncaa nationals there in the the coming weeks.
I can confirm that the meet has been moved to Friday. I have a child running in the meet. The official start time is supposed to be posted by 1pm CDT today.

Thunderstorms are different than rain. Every time a strike of lightning is observed, the race needs to be pushed back 30 minutes. And the clock restarts with every strike. It could delay the meet for hours. Even worse, if a strike occurs during the race, the runners need to be pulled off the course mid-race. You should know this.

Never any thunderstorms in Texas. Why would those from Texas be aware of standard sports competition rules for lightning. You'd think there was a coaching background but clearly there is not.
Back in my day, we never preponed, postponed, or cancelled a meet. We ran and swam during lightning storms, downpours, hurricanes and tornados. If the course went off a cliff, that was the course and you accepted disqualification if you refused to leap. Safety is woke. Kids today are such coddled snowflakes.

Three downvotes? Do y'all not understand sarcasm anymore?

Hell in the 90s, we used to run cross country on out and back quicksand - 1 1/2 miles out and back, uphill both ways!

"postponed"
John McDonnell is either laughing or turning in his grave right now. I'm not sure which. But, I would say that something like this would never have moved a race (or a workout for that matter). I post from personal experience. And.......I think I share his perspective.
