If they don’t win Big 10s and beat Wisconsin, Zero points headed into the regional.
The west is not as deep as in years past. Easier to get top two but if you are third there might not be enough to push them in.
I have been a Jerry defender but at large points exist for a reason. College kids get sick, roll and ankle, who knows what. Could be real bad if they slip and miss.

Building championship programs that are sustainable is not easy. Especially dual or triple threat contenders. Oregon, Arkansas, Texas AM, LSU and ......? It does take a special leader that can surround themselves with talented staff/recruiters. Now throw in NIL and sugar daddy's and the field of contenders probably gets a little smaller. But the talent gets deeper overall with fewer Americans. Places like Washington St that dumps everyone but distance runners/Kenyans might have a chance there but never the 5 Paris Olympians again. Oregon has already bought.their discus thrower and another top athletes, I forget but still has great recruits coming like Nauman. But are Americans over training to make the cut only to flame out in college? Arkansas has raided Africa and Jamaica for years but coaching changes have happened and will continue to happen in the near future that will hamper balanced teams. So, Teams like USC and LSU will roll in with sprinters and a couple jumpers to pick up trophies like always but it'll just be the same teams over and over.

But he 100% deserves to be fired because half of his team (the men) are terrible. He is doing 50% of a good job, which justifies him getting fired.
Especially when all the big Oregon donors only care about the men's results.

Shalame is not exactly doing a good job either if you look at how many of her runners get injured.
What Planet are you on? The women won BIG10, they won the West Regional and placed 4th at Nationals last year in XC. They are ranked first or second this year. Oh yeah, and no one is injured (that’s no women and no men).

Looks like they did well. The results are indisputable, but I’ll bet you that someone will post that they stunk it up and that Jerry should be fired. That’s just who we are dealing with here: a few delusional Duck haters who are so blinded by their bias that they can’t see a very good team when it’s right in front of them

The thing with Oregon is that they are technically a really solid team and always are, but with the talent they recruit they should be a top 3 overall threat to win NCAAs every year.
Every year Oregon picks up kids that run sub 1:50 or 4:00 or 14:00 and win a major championship on the track or the grass in highschool, and you never hear about them again.
I wonder if the people on the board realize that the team is even underperforming.
