She could still play in the NWSL. According to the article I read there have been 50-60 individuals like Caster in global and national championships since 2000. There are close to a dozen in the NWSL.
I'm surprised by this. What the heck was the point of the appeal this summer if you aren't going to keep on going.
But thank goodness. I think Caster was put in an awful situation but common sense has prevailed. A penis isn't what makes men better athletes. It's testosterone from testes. If you have testes, you need to be in the open (aka male) division. The protected division - aka female - should be fo xx people without testes.

The females are in the protected division. You are correct but it just sounds a bit sexist. You are not wrong though.

I liked watching Semenya - like prime Makhloufi but even more dominant. such a good kick
Niki Hiltz claims to be a man. Then SHE needs to run in the MEN'S division. Gee, I wonder why SHE doesn't. Tired of hearing about this nonsense non-stop for 6 years now.
erm, the bit where Caster competed against females and ground them into the dust since he has had copious amounts of testosterone flooding his body.
he identifies as male, lives as male, is male, but wants to race against the girls?
not many women who live like males, identify as males, but are female want to race against men, are there? eh, nikki?
Worth asking why the male division is deemed “open” given no bonafide woman would compete it it.
A good decision, she didn't have a leg to stand on.
I am a bit disappointed that we never got to see what time she could've truly run if she tried. I reckon she had a high 1:51 in her legs, but we'll never know.
Isn't it about time that the sport introduced intersex and trans categories to prevent situations like this from happening?

The bit where it's not true. She doesn't live like a man. She was raised as a girl, believed she was that, found out otherwise later on. She has an unfair advantage in sport, but that doesn't mean that she isn't a woman in every other facet of her life. Dating a woman does not mean that you are not one yourself. I have no problem ackowledging her as a lesbian, as a woman, as a 'she', as a mother. She just shouldn't be in women's sport is all, nothing else.
People like her are the real victims. She truly was born this way. This is where they need a 3rd category- Hermaphrodites and Transgender could be a division of their own.
Non-binary divisions are useless. If you're non-binary you compete in the category assigned at birth (like Nikki Hiltz). People are creating controversy with them (Hiltz) where there is none.

And I want to make clear that my humble opinion is that if you CHOOSE to be trans then you should graciously opt out of competing.
I'm not trans so it's easy for me to say that but I can empathize (?) with hermaphrodites that they love to compete and it's not their decision to be who they are.
And I can truly understand why Semenya loves the 800 so much. It's my favorite event in every aspect- training for, racing, coaching, watching.

Yes. Womens soccer is in a sad state of affairs thanks to FIFA ineptitude.
Caster did not "father" a child; the two children were conceived through artificial insemination because Caster does not produce sperm. A quote from her book may help explain her DSD.
"On the outside, I am female. I have a vagina, but I do not have a uterus. I do not menstruate and my body produces an elevated amount of testosterone, which gives me more typically masculine characteristics than other women, such as a deeper voice and fewer curves. I cannot carry a child because I don't have a womb. But contrary to what many people think, I do not produce sperm. I can't biologically contribute to making new life."

Hiltz doesn’t claim to be a man though
