What is dating like as a guy who is decent looking and who makes $200k+ per year? Unlimited? Scary?

I’m many years married to a goddess and my secret sauce, from what I can tell, was nothing more than sincere attraction. I had no money, drove a beater, and was painfully shy. I overcame the shyness in my future wife’s case because, I figured, the risk of rejection was worth the potential reward. When we talked, we really hit it off. That’s it. No premeditation or baiting with money. I liked spending time with her and she liked spending time with me.

How do they know you make $200k+ per year?

Well, if you have a high status job like surgeon or investment banker and live in a million dollar house, I'm guessing they will be able to infer something. Social media pics of you traveling the world might be a hint also.

You usually meet people and immediately tell them where your house is so they know it’s a million dollar house? Job title can be a giveaway, sure, but you have to connect before that is known in most instances.

Social media can be faked to the extreme and you wouldn’t know from my social media or other executives that I know what we earn.

The circles you move in are more important as it relates to status than making more money. Once you are making over $150k it is hard for anyone to know the difference as it relates to dating.

$200K/yr isn't that much unless you already have a huge trust fund on which to live.

Dating should be great for the decent looking guy who makes $200,000 a year. That's good, most people are Poor. Have a great job and/or money, then watch how fast supposed flaws (height, age, body composition, etc.) won't matter to the majority of women. Don't be fat, have at least a decent personality, and Smash on the reg. I would recommend GF or roster only, no marriage. No single moms. If you must get married it will be awkward to bring up but who gives a Frick, Prenup Prenup Prenup.

Not unlimited, but pretty good. You can do whatever you want on a date - splurge on $300 concert tickets, go to one of the best restaurants in the city. 200k isn't that much anymore in any major city though - you may meet plenty of women who make more than that. You must live in like Huntington, WV or something.

To be worried about gold diggers, you need to make upwards of 500k. You might meet like a waitress or hair stylist who likes you for your money if you open yourself up to dating anyone.

My son ran for a big name college. He is 6'2", fit, and good looking. He earns $200K per year but can't find a date. He works in a tech field with all men. He tries dating sites but has almost no luck. How do you get the word out that you make good money?

My good friend makes over $700K/year (L6, soon to be L7, at Google) and has given up on trying to get dates.

In modern Western countries (America especially, much more than European countries), money has a very low ROI for dating prospects of guys. Like a guy who makes $700K/yr probably has only 30% more dating prospects than a guy who makes $80K/yr, all other things being equal. After all, most women have careers, don't want to have a family, or in many cases want to be the provider and have a stay-at-home dad.

Guys in America who make decent money, aren't good-looking, and want a traditional relationship should go after Russian (or similar Soviet state like Ukrainian, Estonian, etc.) women. There are millions of lonely, beautiful, feminine women in Russia. They enjoy feminine things like shopping for handbags, going to the gym, going to get a manicure, planting flowers, etc.

And then they get sick of you and get half your stuff in the divorce. Good work if you can get it.

The places where $200k is a lot of money don’t have a lot of attractive women.
