OAC is having a good meet. Can’t argue with that.
But to say this is a group of rejected athletes is absolutely false. ON running has outspent every single brand by 2 to 3 X. They have also enormously overpaid foreign athletes training in the USA. They get the best international NCAA athletes just about every year. They have cast a wide, wide net as well (there are probably dozen, overpaid OAC washouts reading this back home). OAC went crazy on talent acquisition during COVID when every other company sat on their asses. Mostly Nike.
This is a team of complete foreign and USA All Stars and even their second tier athletes are making a boatload of money.
Ritz has more talent than any other team in the world right now and most of that team is broken back at home.
And one last thing: If that Steeple was anything normal in terms of pace, Beamish would have been no higher than 8th. An 8:30 race Beamish wins 99/100. Furthermore, Farken should not have even been in that final and he was lucky as hell it was a slow race. Joesette get placed in the very slow heat in the 5k (advantage) and Hurta-Klecker gets the last small q because she was in the fast heat (advantage for her).
So yes, things have cut OACs way at this meet, but if you throw enough things at the wall, you get a week like this every so often. A broken clock is right twice a day.
