Speaking of short world class sprinters. Western Michigans Ira Murchison a 9.3/10.1/'Olympic medalist was only 5-4 making him the shortest sprinter to ever hold that 100m WR.

But the shortest world class sprinter a 10.06 was Cuba's Andre Simon at 5-3.

Notables at 5-7 or shorter....

Oblique Seville World Champion/shortest sub 9,80

Olympic gold medalists Eddie Tolan, Canadian Percy Williams all 123 pounds of him.

Mel Pender a mini Hercules. ran at Army, held all the indoor WR's, also an Olympian at 5-5.

Houston McTear a 9.0in HS.

Cuban Enrique Figuerola 1964 Oympic silver

Need mention....Lee McNeil, NFLer to be the 5-4 Buddy Young, Andre Cason, Bobby Turner, De'Angelo Cherry

Believe it or not I had a feelling ,this was going to have something to do with what we found out about the shooter.

Watching Noah Lyles run a 100m reminds me so much of Tommie Smith he also totally sucked getting it going. Took him forever to get his speed up and then like Lyles here he came.

Remember seeing Smith lose the 100 to Stanfords Larry Questad a cat he had ran down on a 4x1 anchor. Smith gave up too much to Questad then barely missed nipping him at the tape,

Noah gave up way too much to the Jamaicans.

Like Lyles, Smith was far better at200m.

Despite hs horrendous start Smith still ran 9.3 and 10.1 and was world ranked at 100/200/400

He was among my fav strangers along with Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Dan Bongino.
