Will DL Champ Isaac Kimeli win the 5000m, as DL champ Jimmy Gressier won the 10000m?

Could see it was playing nicely into his hands over the final few laps.

People took that DL win way too lightly (heard Eric Jenkins, who I generally enjoy listening to, being particularly dismissive of it in one of the Citius podcasts a few weeks ago).

A.much needed boost for French athletics too, which has been in the doldrums for a few years now

Yeah, he and Habz have had great years (besides Habz going out in the heats). Too bad they couldn't hit this level last year for Paris, but awesome for them. Funny that a US guy has never even medaled at Worlds in the 10k but a French guy has won now.

I'm done expecting Ethiopians to push the pace from a mile out in the 5k (although it would be a wonderful surprise), and just based on how they looked today, I don't think Fisher or Jakob have it in them. In my mind, that leaves Nico as the most likely to push the pace from a bit further out, but still unlikely, which means the guy with the best kick is most likely to win (and Jakob closing in 54 in the heats makes me think it's probably not him this year).
