PS. All the GST haters go home devastated. I saw a Fisher fan saying GST had blood on its hands after Fisher didn't medal. So does MJ get a high five for MJW's win?

Grand Slam Track had nothing to do positively or negatively with their performance at the World Championships.
Incredible race by MJW. 10.61 is all-time #3 (#4 if you count the 10.49 from Flo-Jo, I do not) behind 2021 marks from Elaine Thompson-Herah, a 10.54 in Eugene and SAFP's 10.60 in Lausanne, and its tied with ETH's Olympic winning time and a 10.61 from Flo-Jo from the 88 trials.
There was nothing "sudden" about this. MJW has been excelling all year, and she's been remarkably consistent.
Using the Jonas Mureika wind/altitude adjustment calculator, here are her converted times for this outdoor season:
11.06 on April 5
10.88 on May 2
10.81 on June 1
10.65 on July 5
10.67 on Aug 1
10.67 on Aug 16
10.74 on Aug 22
10.62 tonight
She ran her best race in the championship final, which is exactly what athletes intend to do. But it was nothing out of the ordinary from the form she's been displaying this summer.
Congratulations to MJW on executing her race and getting a well-deserved gold medal.
I respect MJWs progression and was blown away impressed by this 10.61 today. I mean she truly walked away with it - no contest. Good for her. And undefeated season is incredible too - as far as athletes goals go, I think that’s a pretty high achieving mark, to not be beat at all in a season.
I also want to remind people that she works and trains with Dennis Mitchell who is highly sus himself. I’m not pointing fingers and I’m not making accusations that I couldn’t possibly back up with proof. But sometimes association can be eye brow raising and we would all be childish to not add that component to the conversation.

We can make eyebrow-raising associations all day in the sprint world. Jamaican coach Stephen Francis has been highly sus for a long time. Eldrick Floréal, the coach of Julien Alfred who was also the coach of Dina Asher-Smith until recently, was once married to a sprinter who had been previously suspended for doping. Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith is coached by John Smith, who has also been linked to doping.
In other words, a case can be made that every woman in that final has an eyebrow-raising association. I don't think MJW should be singled out. Her training mates haven't had a great showing at these championships.

Of, course 10.49 counts. It's the world record. We don't care what your opinions are.
Love to see the US sprinters do well. They’re at an insane disadvantage from the the South American countries who make sure their athletes aren’t tested or pass the test. While for some reason the US actively tries to bust its best athletes and are thrilled when they do lol

I don’t disagree with you and I almost added a point that said the only reason why I’m less likely to be suspicious to the poor seasons of her teammates. TT Terry did not have a good season, in my opinion and I know they are very close. So yeah, I don’t disagree with you.
She’s already ran 10.65, a 10.61 is not otherworldly.
I'll be honest, I thought she'd dip into the 10.5s. If she keeps going she'll do it.
The good news is there is plenty of room for improvement in her start. She was getting out faster earlier on in the season. Those 2 2nd halves (semi and final) must have been close to fastest all time. The separation she got was out of this world.
