Considering there's been no sub-8s in the steeple, his kick might be lethal at Worlds. But he hasn't raced since June 17th. Is he hurt again? If yes, that's a shame as he opened at 8:13 this year.
If I heard correctly a couple of weeks ago was the first time he didn't have to cross-train in a while and was able to feel good running. I mean, I think that's what I heard. I am so distracted listening to their podcast and was overly invested during the Olympics and now have to watch/listen one eye/ear closed.
He talked in length on a recent podcast episode (Coffee Club). Said he really dug a hole training for the Olympics, not sure if this was due to injury or just overtraining/fatigue.
And only the last few weeks he'd been feeling good running again, as a previous poster wrote.
He ran those two steeples in a week early in the season to try and simulate Worlds and, inevitably, got injured. I stopped listening to Coffee Club because that AI intro they've added is f**king infuriating, but last time I listened he was cross training and going on about heat adjustment for around 45 minutes

That's also where I pulled the plug. It's hard to hear 3 professionals give the behind the curtain look as to how unprofessional they actually are.

Haven't listened in a while, what is an "AI intro" ?

Seconding how irritating that AI intro is, I hope they get rid of it.

They started opening each episode with clips of what was coming up with an AI generated voiceover. It sounds like Alexa/Siri reading a shopping list. It's annoying enough to make me not listen anymore
Sure, I can see what they're going for, it just doesn't work. God forgive me, but even Rojo's intros are better
Yeah the intro is kinda annoying, but it's like 30 seconds. You can just turn down your volume for 30s or skip forward.
As for the training stuff they talk about, I find it much more enjoyable to think of it as just some runners chatting like on a long run rather than something with serious training advice. I know a lot of really fast people (not world class, but OTQ types) who are similarly laissez-faire about their training/recovery/etc, it's a common attitude not exclusive to OAC. I hope those guys can figure out their injury woes soon, I know it's no fun being on the sidelines.

Yeah, it's entirely a personal thing. I'm sure other people are fine with it. I tend to listen to podcasts in easy runs so stopping to skip the intro is just that bit more annoying. It's a shame, I enjoy their schtick and Ollie won me quite a bit of cash when he took gold. At the Commonwealth Games

Ummmm, no. His race plan is clear: straight to the back, then kick like mad to finish 6th. It doesn’t matter if it’s an 8:00 race or 8:30 race. Wearing that goofy black hat with a pony tail out the back just makes it worse.
