I went a couple of years ago. The price gouging on the strip was mind blowing to me. I've done world travel for work including expensive places like Tokyo, but I hadn't really ever seen anything like this. I'm talking $20 for a small coffee, crappy entrees $50+.
It didn't used to be like this. From talking to locals, it seems like things changed once the casino industry consolidated and everything got bought out by the 2 main players.
I'm guessing this strategy is backfiring and they'll go back to the old Vegas in the not too distant future.
Well perhaps if the prices for everything weren't astronomically high people would still visit vegas. I went 12 years ago and it was still outrageously expensive

The Sin City will thrive after Trump’s tariffs bring manufacturing jobs back to America. Casinos can be turned into clothing factories, hotels can be converted into apartments, art of deal.
It’s pretty impressive how Trump is managing to keep things open and avoid shutdowns. The market and the economy are booming right now, which is something a lot of people didn’t expect. Honestly, it feels like things are finally moving in a positive direction. I’m really thankful that the Democrats are out of power, and from the looks of it, it seems like this change is here to stay. It gives a sense of stability and hope for the future.
Guys (because it's mostly guys) can gamble on their phones wherever they are. No need to travel to Vegas to place sports bets, play card games, etc.
Vegas has indeed gotten very expensive. Gone are the days of all-you-can-eat buffets for $8.99.
Nightlife/clubbing isn't as popular with 20-somethings for various reasons.
Prostitution via apps and online is more ubiquitous everywhere, less need for Vegas/Nevada offerings.
Same is true in Atlantic City.
Completely agree with this assessment. Eating in Vegas used to be cheap. Vegas as a vacation was cheap because they wanted all your money for gambling at their casinos. It’s much like everything these days - ruined by complete greed from the overlords.

Agreed!
Also Massive U.S. Investments from Major Corporations. Unemployment is down and US GDP is rebounding nicely. Cities are getting cleaned up. It’s officially the end of the Democratic Party. They hate while Republicans do what they say.

Totally! Vegas ruined Vegas not any political party.
