It's funny because Yared was Ritz's saving grace. Anytime people criticized his coaching people would say but look at Yared's success! So now can we admit that on's training leaves a lot to be desired.

Do you think the same thing for Ollie Hoare and for Garcia, and injured beamish, and nonexistent Morgan m?

please address this part of the data points, it’s not just that you’re seems plateaued, it kinda seems like he’s a racehorse that’s been run too hard for too long, and he needs to change, curious to hear what you think about the four above that have all been on world championship teams, and seem to be crumbling

A year focused on 3K–5K style work, strength, and long aerobic development sounds smart. Many of the greats built that base before coming back to the 1500 with more staying power

The best advice I can give you is act like you've been there before.

I agree and disagree with your thoughts. I do think nuguse has most likely neglected his strength like you said, but not in a 5k/10k sense, but in a marathon and easy miles sense. He probably gets back into the quality too fast after these huge peaks, and more intense work requires a base of lighter work. I bet they stick to a rigid schedule rather than waiting until they've finished their low intensity benefits, and moving onto a faster more intense part of their training.

Ingebrigtsen rebuilds his base with slower than marathon pace progression runs, ie working down to 4:50/mi and once his base is built back up, he turns on the threshold burners again. Nuguse is likely missing this part of the build up.

Lots of injuries, failure to thrive, and bad choices leading to injuries; but also some big breakthroughs this season (Farken, Andrews).

That's so shortsighted. Yared ran 3:27 and won an Olympic medal on Ritz's On training last year.

Just because this year didn't go as planned doesn't mean Yared needs to start all over with another coach. Look at Yared's last three years as a whole.

The 1500 is just really deep right now. We are worrying about a guy who ran within 3 seconds of the mile wr this year. Maybe he could move up to the 5000, but the depth isn't necessarily that much less there. Americans are running in the 1240s.

They were 100% a part of the Ingebrigtsen brothers' training program when they were coached by their dad, and I doubt they changed much from their "system". It's in the "scientific" paper published about the family.

With Nico, Fisher, and Blanks, there's not much wiggle room in there.

Notice the zone 1 training goes up to 2 mmol lactate, which is just below marathon effort in a well trained runner. In my book that has a small section on them, it says a family of high level middle distance athletes from Norway and then says their generic threshold + hills schedule and follows with something like they do progression runs until they are fit enough to handle the threshold work.

A good coach re-calibrates every season. It is reasonable to believe that Nguse and Ritz are having that conversation. Whatever Ritz has done has worked so far. Nguse is an Olympic medalist. Changing coaches now is premature. The guy races a lot, which is great! I hope you all are not clamoring for an Athing Mu 2.0 situation???
