3rd 2018 Boston/4th 2017 Boston/5th 2016 NYC/7th LA Trials. Countless road race wins/podiums. Interestingly joined Hansons who tend to be outspoken about doping. I saw a vague tweet from them today about coaches doing their best. Kind of odd they also just sat on this for a very long time.
It‘s not silent if they just issued communication on it. He was given the opportunity to defend himself and the arbiter ruled against him. He had been provisionally suspended since the original adverse finding and the confirmed suspension will be dated to expire in four years time from that date.
And no doubt Phanuel K has already had a positive test. But we’ll just sweep that under the rug because he has a shot at a medal. And for the good of the sport.
So,so sad to see. Who knows how long he has used doping in his career?
Many years ago I chat with him and he wanted me to coach him. Just right after that agreement he told he had joined the Hansons and he had to follow their coaching.
Now this he was busted for doping I'm of course glad I never coached him ......

Back to a previous thread. Should the coach be suspended and take on some of the fault?

Yes, there is nothing "silent" about this ban - USADA announced it! Allowing athletes to present their case (while not allowing them to compete) before announcing a ban is obviously the right thing to do.

While theoretically correct, the timeline is simply too slow. I’m not surprised the AIU announces provisional bans because for more prominent athletes over a year is too long:
