Guarded expectations for Klecker, more intrigue around Hicks. Fischer can't be serious about both Worlds and NYC, this is a money grab. Has Richtman announced a fall marathon yet?

Me too. I think Hicks has speed speed, and his youth makes him an interesting prospect. And obviously Klecker has speed too but he is a bit older and his road races have been a mixed bag.

I'd have Alex Maier as the American favorite but it will be interesting to see Biya in a championship style race.

Ya a bunch of guys passed up Tokyo to do a fall marathon major instead since they can get paid way more at one of those, and yet he is doing both less than two months apart. Trying to get the best of both worlds, too bad one of the faster younger guys didn't decide to do that.

I’m calling it right now, Charles Hicks has already ran his maximum of 2 races this season. He’ll DNS this race and wind up his season early and start prepping for his 2 races next season.

CJ is doing worlds/chicago double. I’d like to see him go for the triple since he did Chicago/NY last year. I think on the super shoes era these doubles will become more common.

I'm excited to see Bor and Hicks running - Bor moving all the way up from the steeplechase has been great to see and he's had decent success in the half marathon. I think he could run around 2:10. With Hicks, I have absolutely no idea. He's kind of gone dark on strava these past few months and he was definitely a strong runner on the track and grass. Note to whoever did the writeup on the NYC Marathon this year, Hicks is now repping the U.S. according to his World Athletics page. I know he was in the process of transferring earlier this year and it seems it is finished.

No CJ Albertson or Scott Fauble? Fauble never ‘officially’ retired, although he basically said so. Does anyone know if his contract with NIKE expired?

And CJ runs everything. Surprised he’s not there.

No one on the streets of NYC will know or care about the Africans that run by. Only a few people on this board care but will just be waiting for the dope bans to hit. Meet directors need to stop inviting Africans to race. They don’t add anything but maybe a faster time. Spend your money on Americans.

At least the African runners will show up and won’t pull out like Hicks.
