"Shin discomfort" is the mildest reason ever so you can't really not believe him. Most athletes on the starting line are dealing with at least some mild pain/soreness somewhere. That being said, I think he pulled out mainly to not let Noah use him for race sharpness. Silesia was closer than it should've been.

Racing means getting tested. Kishane wants to avoid getting tested. Ergo no more racing before Tokyo.

Lyles was my favorite anyway after Silesia. He beat Kenny who just came off a 9.79 at USATF champs. And he was only 0.03 back from Thompson already. Thompson's trajectory often goes backwards from his June season bests in Jamaica, Noah is very good at peaking at the world championships. The past four years Noah has run a season best at the world championships, Thompson has never done it.

Totally agree. These guys can get tested out of competition. I don’t think winning a DL means an auto test. But you’d be an idiot to be glowing at a meet.

It’s been reported before that Kishane has dealt with injuries, which is why he competed sparingly in past seasons. He struggled to run multiple rounds and often had to cut his seasons short. This year has been his best by far, and I would avoid unnecessary races to make sure I’m at my peak when the World Championships come around.

Give how sparingly he usually races, I was really surprised to see him sign up for three races in 8 days in the first place. Scratching Lausanne is not really a surprise
