Training partners Tim Cheruiyot and Stefan Nillessen remain in. With Laros’ injury history, not taking anything for granted. He only has 8 DL points, so he probably would want to add a few more to ensure he gets into the DL final. They’ve been very cautious with him, so possibly a precaution or nothing. But injuries seem to be his biggest arch nemesis.
Sorry to see that. I was looking forward to the rematch between him and Nuguse.
I think we need more information to evaluate if this is cause for concern or nothing. Hopefully the Let's Run team can reach out to him to ask about his withdrawal and his plans moving forward.

Does he speak English?
Probably not a single Dutch person who doesn’t speak English. Many speak it better than Americans (I say that as an American).
No concern. Hes way yoo young to be involved in pro races anyway. He needs to be focusing on his school and his community so he can one day attend college.
This is what he said when I asked him why he withdrew from Silesia:
Every season is always a new part of the puzzle that gives information on where he's at and how his body is coping. Based on that we felt the need to adjust his road towards Tokyo a bit.
Bakker did say that Laros is planning on racing in Brussels on August 22.
Thanks for the update! You've been doing a great job of that lately. I appreciate you becoming track & field's version of Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania. We've been needing this for a long time! Instead of dropping "Woj bombs," you can throw Gault grenades!

There's no doubt that the Dutch are exceptionally good at English as a foreign language. Europeans in general are now pretty capable because of universal instruction. But when you say that they are better than Americans, that just means that they know their grammar better from having learned it formally in school. This is eminently attainable in a foreign language, because native speakers do not need to learn grammar rules to use their language competently. It does not mean that the non-native speakers can attain the level of fluency and colloquial expertise of native speakers without early immigration.

So that's the update.
Thank you Jon!
Take: minor setback/feeling run down…recent photos from Saint Moritz had just Tim/Nillessen in some. But not a major concern if he lines up in Brussels, which would indicate he’s bounced back.

Speaking of Tim, with the Manangoi brothers gone and now Tim, is the Rongai track club kaput? Was there a second positive after the elder manangoi?

fwiw Elijah competed at the Police champs this year. Don't think he takes the sport as seriously anymore but less likely that he's received a 2nd suspension
Was looking forward to seeing what Laros could do here, but good it sounds like nothing too serious
Something I have noticed about Laros, is that he was an awkward sway to his running form. This is particularly true when he picks up the pace and you can see him rock from side to side. I do wonder if this has some impact on the injuries he picks up.
Watch his last lap at Pre.

Rematch? Nuguse will never beat him again.
Goose has been B plus of late and over played his hand.
Look for Goose to return to the formula that won Diamond leagues before, and it's going to be Goose and the Kenyan prime suspect in the stretch.
so Goose for the win.
Kessler is in great shape too, and figures for third, with expected progression.
Kessler has to stick with the program, and wait for God's hand.
Laros needs PEDs to contend in Tokyo and there's blood testing at Diamond League events. Getting his chemicals right like the ole Rabobank teams. Jk he's totally clean

Good thing you’re kidding. For a second there I thought you were confuaing him with East Africans.
