if anyone would have a chance to do this, it would be yared
This is incorrect. You are only saying this because Yared is in this position. He might have a chance, but he is not the first person that comes to mind when assessing who would have the best chance if in this position.
Cole is gonna do him at the DL final to break OAC hearts
it would then be funny if Kessler won the WC over Hocker🤣But I really doubt we see hocker there. Feels like you train through for the WC.
You know if would be a pretty cool track meet where if one week before the WC, they ran events where the top people who weren’t named to the teams gett a win and you in race. Make the WC about the best in the world racing no matter the nationality.

I’ve proposed an idea like that before. You pick out the top 8/12 list of the unluckiest athletes not to make it. The star power would still be good:
You need to qualify for the DL final to be able to win the DL final.
There was a time a few years ago when Mu was given a wild card to the DL final in Eugene and won the race over Keely. Keely was considered the DL champion though because Mu hadn't officially qualified.
Yes, according to the DL website, which also mentions certain conditions apply.
The 2025 Wanda Diamond League Final will be held at Weltklasse Zurich on August 27-28. In each of the 32 disciplines, athletes who have qualified via the Road to the Final compete in a winner-takes-all season finale to be crowned Wanda Diamond League champion.
Each champion is awarded the iconic Diamond Trophy and a wild card for the World Athletics Championships (certain conditions apply).
Has he not qualified? He's done very well on the circuit this year.
He's only run 1 DL race so far this year (Pre Classic). He'll need to run more and get more points to qualify - there's 2 more DL 1500s before the final and I know he's said he's running at least one of them.

If he runs as well as he has been (outside of USAs), he will be able to run Silesia and then skip Brussels DL. Double figures will probably be safely into the DL Final. I don't think getting to Zurich will be the problem at all, but winning that race is of course an uphill battle.

Noah, do we have a list yet of likely WC contenders who are also in Yared (and Hobbs) boat, needing to target DL win for entry?

Realistically, it’s a short list: Brian Komen (who may also get help from a countryman’s win) is the one. Komen looked OK in his European races, but then quite good at Kenyan Trials. I’d say he’d be in the mix if he finds his way in. No other country rivals the US/Kenyas depth. Australia goes 4 deep, but asking a lot for Spencer to win the DL final to get Olli/Jude Thomas in. Wouldn’t expect either to do much if they got in either. Ditto France who would get a 4th entrant if Habz wins.

As THE yared Nuguse super fan. I say in honor of cole sitting on him during the US trials, and the field sitting on him this year at US Champs. I say he sits on whoever takes it out after lap 1 and squeeze Kerr Style If possible. If Koech is truly a sub 3:30 guy like that it'll be good race but Nuguse actually has a ton of experience in sub 3:30 races and at this point nothing to lose. diamond league victories.
If he wins he deserves it. If he doesn't theres always next year and he now knows he can challenge world records. Koech has broken 3:30 3 times this year the same amount as peak yared (last year) so we may be in for a race. And this is low-key looking like Koech will dominatethe event within for the next few years. I truly do wonder if he tried to train through US champs this year. go Goose. If he does make worlds one thing is for sure the Goose will become an Eagle loll

Thanks for posting. FloTrack needed to read your link before posting an article saying Trey Cunningham has a DL win route to the WC's. USA already has 4 hurdlers.
