Yes I know he didn’t have the standard just like he didn’t have the standard when he was 4th last year in the 10000m
The guy has caught a lot of flack over the years, and I get that I shouldn’t feel too bad for someone who has had a big contract like he didn’t, but man he has been through the ringer and so close a few times now. Ran tough today, I was pulling for him.
He ran his heart out. It's great to see him be competitive in championship races. Was rooting for him to take over Nico at the end there but US is definitely sending their best team in both 5k and 10k races. Anything short than medals in the 5k and 10k will be disappointing.
I don't think he had standard anyways or enough points
Is Hocker going to run the 5k at worlds?

Would love to see him make a team. Looks unlikely with the youth talent but wouldn’t have bet him 4th the last two years either.
And it was a methodical run by Hunter. Waited and waited until the last lap. Performed magnificently on that lap but so did the three guys ahead of him. Damn that was good.
If Young or Fisher win the DL final he would be in right? Not crazy likely but definitely not a 0% shot

I auggest we cut out the heart of Armstringlivs or EPOsedjati to satisfy the Gods of racing.
Championship racing 5k favors the 1500 guys. We've seen it many times.
I was so rooting for Hunter to make the team :(. I hope Hocker doesn't run the 5000 at Tokyo. He should just stick to the 1500M,
I was rooting for him, too. I could not believe he was gaining ground and passing Wolfe and Teare and almost Young. He runs like he's angry at the track and is carrying heavy sandbags compared to the little light-stepping typical distance guys.
Hunter doesn’t have the standard. Hocker will probably scratch leaving the final spot for Teare. Copper Teare didn’t seem upset in his post race interview and said, “I’m in a good position if anyone scratches.”
